This is about us failing as dog owners

During the last year dog ownership has cropped over and over. David of course started out on the pro side and I was reluctant. Then on reflection; even more reluctant on my side and David decided he couldn't take care of a dog. Then I kept bringing it back up again and again. For example: "they had dogs in front of Fred Meyers, one of them was really cute...etc."
Fast forward to now! David was supposed to keep his weight off the left foot for 3 weeks and I was sad to see him so home-bound and we decided to get a dog. September 13th we got a terrier from Humane Society and called him Porthos. The next day during a walk the dog pulled his head through the collar and ran off into the woods. On Thursday we got him back; then today while we were at church he got away again. We give up, if he is found we are giving him back to the Humane Society.

The end of a sad story.

Cruise To Alaska

On

Saturday May 17th, David and I woke up at 5 am in anticipation of starting a cruise and out of anxiety -  because we didn't want to forget anything or delay arrival. We left the house early because Bremerton was celebrating the 66th annual Armed Forces Day parade and we it to stop us from catching the 9:45 am ferry.

Once we checked our bags and got our picture snapped, we checked in by showing our boarding pass and passports and went up to our cabin. We were especially excited because they offered us a chance to upgrade a month ago from our inside cabin to a verandah cabin for a small fee.

The air conditioning wasn't working, the safe was locked and the DVD player wasn't working so we called the problems in. We opened the door and let cool air in from outside. When our helper came up she said we shouldn't leave the door open because that interferes with its function. To wait till the ship was underway to see if the room would cool down. Then the next day the body wash container was leaking so they didn't load any soap in it. Long story short, it all got fixed but the air conditioner. It worked at night but in the day we had to open the door to let in cool breezes and it was lovely to hear the ocean waves.

Picture of Seattle from our balcony before we set sail.

We went down to the dining room to eat lunch. We each had a neck & shoulder massage as personnel at the SPA tried to sell us future appointments. Found the gym, went to dinner and proceeded to unpack since our luggage was delivered to our room by then.  7:30 pm and our 1st day was over; we were so tired we couldn't go to the live show or let the room steward in to turn down the sheets and put a chocolate on the pillow.

Bad day to be sick ... I am thankful that it won't last forever.

I realized that I was really incapacitated about 1:30 pm . So I stayed home and went thru lots of kleenex, and drank lots of water.

Trip to Arizona

So while I was in Arizona we went to see this little girl at the hospital along with Annaliese.
Brynn is so light and cute. I could have held her all day. (This is a picture of Beth holding her.) Her family is  cute too. Look at the pictures  of the rest of the family.  None of the pictures are good photography, but I like to remember my time there.

I made this collage and had it printed off last November. We've had it on our dresser in the bedroom where we can see it frequently and it always makes me smile. Aren't they cute.

Birthday BBQ

Yesterday David turned 60 yrs old yesterday~ and in addition to that Ken and Rosy both had birthdays Friday and today. So there was a BBQ  yesterday and I made RIBS for the first time in my life and every liked them. Maili's family, Dave and Claire's family, and Grandma all came. I gave David headphones for his birthday present.

Today I saw the box of Chex in the kitchen left from when you were here and and decided to make Muddy Buddies for the first time also.

Tomorrow we are going to the dr to see when david's out-patient surgery will be to take a lump out from the back of his neck.
